Nice to meet you!

I am instructor Yumiko Tanaka,

aka Tana-Yumi.

 

I have been a piano instructor
since 1995 and have seen my students
grow and enjoy their lessons.

 

I started offering online piano
lessons in 2022 with the intention of
bringing online piano lessons

 

to as many people as possible
to help them enjoy music in a
more personalized way.


 

 


My online piano lessons are recommended
for the following students!


  • Do not have a piano school near you
  • Are too busy or have other commitments that prevent you from attending a piano school.
  • Want to start piano lessons at home.
  • Are practicing on your own but want some advice.
  • Are worried about infectious diseases
  • Want your children to learn to play the piano but have given up piano lessons because the caregiver is too busy to pick up and drop off the child.




Whether you are

Okayama Joto High School, Okayama Prefecture, General Course (Music)

Miyazaki University Faculty of Education
Graduated from Special Subjects (Music) Teacher Training Course, majoring in Piano

Obtained a teaching license (1st class) for high school and junior high schools
Performed in many concerts such as...
Performed as a soloist in a regularly scheduled concert in my senior year at university.
Performed in the Miyazaki Prefecture Newcomer’s Concert the following year
　　
Accompanist for the female chorus “はもーる・フェリーチェ (Hamoru Felice)”
in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture, for about 7 years since 2010,
as well as a practice pianist and accompanist for
the bi-yearly city-sponsored concert,
Has also appeared on the 15th anniversary concert in 2014




★Lesson Courses★

I offer three lesson courses.
All courses have a trial lesson, so please try them if this is your first time♪


◉ Piano Course for Adults ◉
Whether you are a beginner or have some
previous experience with the piano, I will tailor
the lessons to your individual needs and level.
If you have any requests for a particular song you would
like to play, please let me know before sending a request
so that I can find sheet music according to your level
and of course, I can make a simpler arrangement.

*This course is open to
all adult students.



◉ Basic Piano Course for Elementary School Students ◉

The first step is to be able to locate

the “do-re-mi-fa-so” on the piano keys and
then to be able to play the “do-re-mi-fa-so”
notes without looking at your hands.

At the same time, students will practice reading notes
using note cards and tapping rhythms, gradually
learning to read and play music on their own.

*This course is an one-on-one lesson,
but I kindly ask that parents/guardians assist in
operating the computer and accompany the child until
they are comfortable with online lessons. 

 


◉ Practice Support Course ◉
If you are already learning to play the piano
or practicing on your own, I can
give you advice on how to improve,
or I can give you practice lessons
to offer advice on the spot.

Also, if you sometimes feel “no motivation to practice” on your own,
please feel free to use my service!

★ Before sending a lesson request ★
As a general rule, I ask that you prepare your
own sheet music and materials before the lesson.
However, if you are a first-time piano learner or would like to discuss what sheet music to use in advance,
please contact me via message before sending a lesson request.

If you are taking a trial lesson for
the “Basic Piano Course for Elementary School Students”,
I can prepare the sheet music on my side
for the first lesson, so please
contact me before sending a request.

If you have any other questions or would like to discuss anything else,
please let me know via message before sending a request.


★ About my online standby schedule ★
I usually do online standby lessons
from 10:00 to 11:30 on weekdays,
about 2 to 3 times a week♪
