Konnichiwa!
I have not always been a teacher. Before becoming a full time ESL teacher, I was a technical head in a private company selling and giving technical assistance to our clients. I love to travel both for business and pleasure. I was also a senior science research specialist in a government agency dealing in agricultural research and development.I was fortunate to travel to Japan as a JICA participant and it was one of the best experience I ever had! It was exciting to meet people from different walks of life. But it also took a lot of courage and guts to face them in different situations.
These experiences taught me the value of hardwork, teamwork, perseverance and initiative. I learned that to be successful, we should be aware and be sensitive of the people and the environment around us since our world is made up of countless cultures and unique individuals.
I have been teaching English in school and online since 2004. I love traveling, reading about science and people, and visiting different places. I had worked as a Foreign English Teacher in China for 6 years. I also earned my TEFL certificate while working there. I believe that learning is a continuous process.
What to expect from my classes?
Beginners in English are welcome to study with me. I teach students from as young as 8 years old up to professionals who want to improve and master their English communication skills. I am student-centered so I adjust my lessons according to my student's learning style and needs.
We can study grammar, reading comprehension, do extemporaneous speeches and even listening to music so you can sing it well next time. I also do writing classes with voice so I could guide you on ways to improve your writing. I finished my bachelor and master degrees in the University of the Philippines so I have an open mind, flexible in class and patient to develop your English skills.
I love to share what I have experienced but I also love to listen and exchange views on what's happening with the world today. My motto in teaching: EXPLORE THE WORLD THROUGH ENGLISH! So come journey with me and see the world in English!
