Hi there...
Welcome to my teaching platform. My name is Roxanne and I am from South Africa. I am a Junior Lecturer with a Major in English.
My teaching style
I offer a casual teaching style, I am a very friendly, outgoing and patient tutor. I am passionate about my students and I always make sure that I make them top priority. Please do not be afraid to make mistakes, I am here to help you, without making you feel inadequate. Do not hesitate to ask questions, I believe we learn by asking and gaining knowledge.
If it is your first time taking my lessons, I always allow us to get to know each other, its a great ice breaker and it allows me to determine your needs as an English student.
My lessons range from listening and speaking, grammar, reading, writing to improving your vocabulary etc. If you want to prepare for an interview or improve your business vocabulary or just casual conversations, I will help you achieve your goals.
If you have a certain lesson in mind, or a certain topic you wish to discuss, message me and I will prepare according to your needs.
I feel its important to practise everyday. We learn through making notes, asking questions, watching tv shows and by talking to people. Its important to find out what motivates us, and apply that motivation in order to achieve our goals.
Lets enjoy learning from each other!!!
About me
I am extremely crafty and artsy. I enjoy home decor and simply making things myself. I have my own YouTube channel, where I film videos from beauty, to lifestyle and DIY videos. I also have my own Eyelash line which I launced in 2019.
I love watching South Korean TV dramas on Netflix, then I also enjoy reading and horse back riding.
I have two boys ages eight and six, my kids teach me something new everyday. Its nice to see the world through the eyes of a child.
Children are inquisitive by nature and they sometimes ask questions I would never have thought of, and this allows me to do more research, new findings that I possibly might introduce to my next lesson.
Tutoring history
I have about three years teaching experience. I am currently a Junior Lecturer at the North West University in South Africa. The very same University I obtained my Masters Degree from. I am responsible for teaching aspiring teachers to become the best English teachers in their field.
I am an online English tutor as well and its something that I enjoy very much.
