Hi! I'm your teacher, Keith. I am a TEFL certified teacher, beginning in 2016, and I have been teaching English ever since. I lived in Europe for 3 years teaching English and acting, and now I'm back in the States teaching English online. I find teaching online to be much more beneficial for both me and the student because I can focus my attention on only a small number of students instead of a classroom full of 30 students. Prior to living and teaching in Europe, I was a high school teacher and administrator for 11 years. I like to have fun during class and keep you engaged as much as possible.
Learning is "a full-contact sport" and having conversations with others who know more than you or speak better than you will 100% of the time help you grow to the next level. I would much rather use real situations, topics, physically acting out scenarios and visuals versus asking the student to "imagine" or "make up a story when". Let's apply your speaking to REAL LIFE, which is where you want to eventually use it, right?
Also, being an acting coach for 16 years, I am very good at coaching your pronunciation and your fluency skills so you can sound like a native. I can review your speech, identify the common mistakes Japanese speakers make in pronunciation and we will work on it unti you hear results! Tongue twisters, vocal warmups and little secrets (like the phrase "can't take" actually is pronounced as one word with no break between them) will elevate you to the next level. I also love food will have a fun time teaching you the different words used in grocery stores AND when cooking a meal.
Regardless of your age and fluency level, I will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, and together, you will rise to the next level.
