Hello. My name is David. I’m from the UK. I taught English in southern Japan for many years and now live in Scotland. I just love teaching English and can help you master the English language. If you want conversational English, that is no problem.  And if you want to learn more about English grammar such as the 12 English tenses, definite and indefinite articles, adverbs, prepositions and how to write sentences and paragraphs, that is not a problem either.

I have a four-year BA(hons) degree in English, a Cambridge CELTA certificate and a certificate in how to teach pronunciation to non-native speakers of English.You will be able to view my degree and certificates once I am fully registered with Cafetalk.com . I can speak conversational Japanese and some Mandarin Chinese.

Our lessons will be of various lenghts from 30 mins to a full hour in length and the topics will cover everything you want to cover, from health and fitness, sports, politics and anything that you can think of to enhance your studies.

If you decide to take lessons with me with the view of mastering English to a high level,I recommend that you use a grammar book to master the fundamentals of English. I will give you details of which book = or books to use when we begin our lessons.

I also teach the IELTS and Japanese Eiken courses for non-native speakers of English. Again, if you decide to study for a recognized qualification such as IELTS,TOEFL,TOEIC Bridge or Eiken, I will be able to help you in that area.

All of my classes will be structured with vocabulary, grammar, a story, questions embedded within the text and additional questions to stretch learners. There may be a short homework assignment ,however, all students will be supported whichever path they wish to choose, either conversational or more academic English, including the troublesome English idioms.

Please bear in mind that I only want to teach students who are serious about their studies and will endeavour to help all students achieve their own personal goals regarding the English language.

I am a very friendly man and will put you at your ease when we begin our lessons.
