Hello, my name is Chay, and I want to thank you for visiting my profile.
I'm German/American and I have been living in the states now for most of my life. I have traveled a lot in my life and I'm very passionate about language, learning about different cultures, and agriculture. During my travels, I was introduced to the world of ESL and since then it's become something I really enjoy helping others with.
I have been teaching English as a Second Language for a little over two years now and tutoring in multiple subjects for eight years. I've taught all ages and all levels so I'm comfortable and confident with a variety of students. I have experience preparing students for the TOEFL test and would be happy to help you prepare or simply improve your score.
I typically have more of a blended style with my approach to teaching and tutoring. This means I try to tailor fit my lessons to each individual student's academic needs with the appropriate subject matter. This ensures that we focus on the most important topics, which enables my students to get the most out of each lesson. I try to encourage and promote self-learning. I think it's important because it will inspire the student to continue to build skills even outside the classroom. Through self-learning, you will develop critical thinking and build knowledge that you can use for the rest of your life.
