Welcome to my beginner-friendly course in the beautiful craftmanship Sashiko. I love Sashiko since my first encounter in Tokyo, 2017. I hope you will love it as well.

The course will guide you through the art of Sashiko, a traditional Japanese form of needlework known for its simple yet intricate patterns. In this course, you'll learn the basics of Sashiko stitching, explore traditional patterns, and why it is so fun create ;)

Module 1: Understanding Sashiko

  • Lesson 1: Origins and History

    • Explore the rich history of Sashiko, its cultural significance, and how it has evolved over time.

  • Lesson 2: Materials and Tools

    • Learn about the essential materials and tools needed for Sashiko stitching, including fabric, needles, and thread.

Module 2: Basic Sashiko Stitching Techniques

  • Lesson 3: Getting Started

    • Understand the basic principles of Sashiko stitching, including fabric preparation and threading the needle.

  • Lesson 4: Running Stitch
