What you need to know about Vitamin D

Audrey オードリー

Many of you may know the benefits of vitamin D and are eating foods enriched with this beneficial vitamin, and may also be taking vitamin D3 supplements as well.

Vitamin D is called the sunshine vitamin because our body produces it as a result of sun exposure.  Its benefits includes boosting our immune system, calcium absorption and protection against certain diseases such as cancer.

However, without concurrent intake of vitamins A and K2, benefits of D3 supplementation may not be realized.  When using a vitamin D supplement, you must also consume ample amounts of foods high in vitamin A and K2.

Foods high in Vitamin A - liver, fish, carrots and other orange vegetables.

Foods high in Vitamin K2 - fermented foods such as miso, natto, sauerkraut and kimchi.
