We also do not vote directly for our Prime Minister (we vote for our party). We vote for our local representative instead. Our main parties are the Conservative Party, the Liberal Party and the New Democratic Party. We essentially know what each party promotes, but we still get surprises! We love voting though. We always ask each other "Did you vote yet?" during each election.

Thanks for your comment ! Meg, I really appreciate what you mean by "the importance of the election." I don't know the situation in Canada, but, In Japan, under the current election system, people cannot directly vote for the prime minister. The prime minister of Japan is to be elected by the party members of the ruling party.

Oh really? I didn't know the Abe's were so unpopular. Everyone of voting age must participate in the next election! Voting here in Canada is very important - a privilege and a responsibility.

and this political bad trend first started when her dubious relationship with a ultra nationalistic kindergarten was revealed in public.

There are several speculations about her behavior in this news. ... if she didn't want to communicate with Trump in English OR NOT... But I personally think that it is quite odd if she didn't say anything (deliberately) to Trump at the meeting .. even 'Hello' to him ??? Considering her academic background and her present position, it is apparent that she is a good English speaker. However, now in Japan, the popularity of prime minister Abe sharply dropped down (almost into the danger zone)

But I heard that some problems occurred by her behavior and action.

She is a real Lady and does her country proud.
