Why learn functional/situational English?

Nov 18, 2019

Today I am happy to announce that I've completed a project that I've been working on for some time. Creating a curriculum purely based on functional/situational English for my intermediate to advanced students.

Learning grammar and vocabulary is all well and good, but practicing how to apply this knowledge to everyday situations is even more important. This is why some time ago I decided to create a course to help my students to do just that: function effectively using their already learned grammar and vocabulary.

Why learn situational English?

The bigger question is why are you learning English? My best guess is........ you are learning English so you can actually use it in real life. Well in real life we use slangs, we relaxed the grammar rules and most importantly new words and expressions are introduced every day.  To be able to function effectively in an English conversation it's necessary to tackle language learning from a functional perspective. So, even if vocabularies are being used that you don't understand it's easier to use context clues to denote their meanings.

What does my course entail?

This course now has a total of 45 carefully designed lessons that include practice dialogues, vocabulary and grammar refreshers, situational role-plays and tons of speaking practice.

Thank you for reading! Check out the link below if you wish to purchase this lesson. If I get enough students I will offer a pack lesson with a discounted rate. However, for now, a coupon is available for a single lesson.
