Hey guys! Today I’d like to talk about some of my favorite summer foods. I have so many favorites, but here are four of them!
Watermelon is a crisp, juicy treat perfect for a scorching summer day. It's super hydrating and refreshing as well! I personally like to eat my watermelon straight out of the refrigerator so that it’s nice and cool. I eat it on its own, but I’ve heard of some people adding salt and chili pepper to theirs to add a little kick. I would like to try it like this sometime!
Ice cream is a must for the summer months. They come in so many flavors these days that everyone is bound to find a flavor that they like! My personal favorite is salted caramel with a little bit of chocolate. Although ice cream is traditionally made from cow’s milk, there are also some dairy-free alternatives for those of us who are lactose-intolerant (me included). Such varieties may be made from almond milk, coconut milk, cashew milk, and many more.
Hot dogs are a traditional summer favorite here in the U.S. They remind me of backyard grill parties. In fact, I was invited to a party the other day where we had both hot dogs and hamburgers. Hot dogs are enjoyed in different ways all around the world, but here in the U.S., it is typically served in a bun with ketchup and mustard, as well as maybe some diced onions and pickle relish. I always love to eat hot dogs with a side of potato chips.
French fries remind me of fun summer road trips so they always make me think of good memories. They also remind me of going to the beach boardwalk and enjoying the sun’s rays on the warm sand, and hearing the waves of the ocean. French fries go so well with sweet treats such as ice cream and milkshakes. The saltiness compliments the sweetness well. In fact, I’ve heard that some people like to dip their fries into their milkshake!
I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite summer foods! I’ve become hungry while writing this entry...
