Hello Cafetalk Community!
I hope you're staying cool in these record-breaking temperatures and you're having a good summer. I just wanted to say "hello" and offer you a small incentive to take my class.
I was a model in Japan for a long time during my teenage-years. (The photo above and below are some of the tear sheets I've kept over the years.) I believe the fact that I am half Japanese and half Caucasian seemed to be my appeal and the Japanese consumers felt an affinity to me yet as the same time I am different.
I went to an American school at Yokota Air Force Base. I worked on modeling jobs every weekend and after school alternating with the volleyball practices. Due to the fact that I've lived in Japan for 18 years when I was growing up, my mother is Japanese and my father is Caucasian, I know how to speak Japanese.
Then, I moved to the United States when I turned 18-years-old to attend UCLA. I graduated from the Theatre Arts Department so I am able to read "picture books" to your child. Also, I have training in voice classes and the standard American accent. I've worked on over 50 American Television shows including "Friends," "Seinfeld," "Wayan's Bros," "Wings," "Designing Women," etc. for a couple of decades.
More recently, I graduated with a Master's Degree in "Library and Information Science" (MLIS) from the San Jose State University. While I was going to school, I worked at the Santa Monica Main Public Library in California.
Then about a year and a half ago, I met a Canadian man and moved to Red Deer, Canada in the Province of Alberta. I still miss California, but the surrounding nature in Canada is very beautiful. My parents and brother are still living in Los Angeles, California.
I hope you will try my English lesson some day soon! I'm always where all my students are from and what they do for a living, so I thought reveal a little about myself too. I look forward to meeting you!
