My name is Gie. I'm from the Philippines who`s working as a Senior High School English teacher in Japan.
I started teaching in 2013. Since then, I have taught:
I am a registered nurse with 2 years work experience. I am also a licensed teacher with Science as my major. I finished my Master`s degree in Hospital Management and Leadership.
Through the years, I’ve developed my own teaching style which can particularly benefit young learners and beginners. My lessons are straight forward, fun but engaging. The key to successfully master a language is Practice. Therefore, in my class: 70% speaking time for the students and only 30% for the teacher to facilitate learning through guide questions, vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar check.
In my free time, I do a lot of artsy and crafty stuff.
I do Kirigami (切り紙) art, Origami, and Painting. I`m into volunteering and organizing meetup groups for Arts and Chess.
I love meeting new people and learn about their culture and lifestyle. Not only English related but I have lots of things to share!
Welcome to my class! Let’s have fun learning together!
