Hi! My name is Aiko! I am very eager to help you learn and practice conversational English! I know how scary it can be to learn a new language, but I hope to guide you in feeling confident and excited to learn English! My goal is to make each lesson suit your specific needs and interests. I will prepare customized lessons specifically for each student, with a focus on listening, reading, and speaking. Allow me to introduce myself ^_^ 

I am half-Japanese and half-Filipino, but was born and raised in sunny California and now live in Oahu, Hawaii. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Communications. Additionally, I am TEFL certified and have experience teaching many age groups. 

Most recently, I taught English for 2 years at elementary and junior high schools in Miyazaki, Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT). It was such a wonderful time, and I really miss Japan!

Previously, I had the pleasure of teaching at an after-school academy in Hanoi, Vietnam. I taught various age groups, ranging from young children to college students to adults. I also tutored one-on-one with students in various professional fields, interested in learning Business English. 

I absolutely love teaching and it is my mission to not only help students better learn the English language, but to make them feel empowered and known. I believe in the importance of being relational, kind, and friendly, and I strive for this to be evident in the classroom. My lessons are fun, engaging, and supportive. You will also learn through a variety of fun material, such as music, TV shows, and movies.
