Hello everybody. Guten Tag. Here is Leo B. 

Originally from Bavaria, Germany, I graduated from Leipzig University (Department of Japanese Studies) in Saxony.

 
I've been living in Japan for almost 5 years now, and I love playing chess, snowboarding, listening to music, and always learning new things. In Japan, I did work related to international exchange as well as planning and sales in a Japanese company. Language abilities always were and still are a key factor in my experience as a professional in Japan. (German native speaker, Business Japanese J1 with 541 points, English TOEIC 975 points etc.)

 

At cafetalk, I want to share the knowledge that I have acquired in my own learning process for everyone. To that end, I offer classes in a wide range of fields, including German, English, and chess. By the way, do you think language and chess have something in common? To me, it is the power to "connect people". I think that not only games but also languages have to be learned in a fun way and mastering any of these doesn't need to be dull, boring let aside frustrating.

 

All of the above can seem quite difficult at first glance, but don't worry. There are many places to start, but I will guide you on your way, and where needed prepare material that serves the accomplishment of your goals. My goal is always to deliver great learning experiences no matter the time format. I also welcome any wishes and requests regarding the contents of the lesson. Also on a side-note: Every lesson can be done in German, English or Japanese. Just the way you want it to be!

 

German/English lessons

 

Some of you might still feel uncomfortable about approaching native speakers, some of you just want to continue learning the language, and people who want to communicate smoothly with the local people on their next trip abroad. No matter what your motivation and level is you are at the right address when you train with me.

 

About chess lessons

 

The chess population is said to be 600 million people all over the world. Having said so the motivation and knowledge of each player vary greatly. The benefits of learning chess are well researched and many countries even have chess taught in schools. Chess, the game of kings, considerably improves mental strength, makes us smarter, and fascinates with its depth of strategy and tactics and is nowadays considered as a cultural heritage, a form of art and sport at the same time. 

 

Having won several chess tournaments and having extensive experience of teaching at chess clubs and circles, I will offer you the best lessons for your level. I promise that you will improve your understanding of chess, will win more games and enjoy the game - which is the most important.

 

About the use of camera

 

If you have a Skype camera and would like to take lessons, both parties should use a camera. Thanks for your understanding.
