Nice to meet you. I'm Jakku-JACK, a shamisen player who plays the shamisen without borders or genres.
My specialty is the Tsugaru shamisen, and I have been exploring the sound of the electric shamisen in particular, focusing on its approach to band sound and collaboration with other instruments.
With this experience, I can offer lessons for those who want to try out the shamisen in a variety of genres such as POPS, ROCK, JAZZ, etc., from easy-to-understand introductory lessons for beginners to more advanced lessons for professionals.
I can also teach Tsugaru folk songs such as "Jongara-bushi"! Please note that this is a field that is a bit out of my usual professional activities, so please be aware that it is intended for beginner to intermediate students.
Also, if you are interested in learning more about the shamisen, creating your own original music with the shamisen or learning about music theory such as chords and scales through the shamisen, I am planning to offer classes in new fields in the future.

Activities in recent years
In 2019, I performed a live bonsai performance with bonsai artist Seiji Hirao on the occasion of a social gathering between the first lady of the French Republic, Brigitte Macron, who was visiting Japan on the occasion of the G20, and the first lady of the Prime Minister's Cabinet, Akie Abe.
In 2019, I performed with my band THE SYAMISENIST at Yokohama Arena as part of the Rugby World Cup Semi-Final Official Reception.

Major Awards
In 2014, I won a silver medal in the Class A division of the Tsugaru Shamisen World Competition for singing.
In 2019, I served as director of a project organized by the Ministry of External Affairs on the occasion of Gandhi's 150th anniversary with a Japanese arrangement of Gandhi's beloved songs, for which I received the Minister of External Affairs of India Award for his work.
