Hi there! Thanks for visiting my profile.
My Qualifications:
I'm a Native English speaker from Canada who is a CELTA Grade"A" (Cambridge English Language Teacher for Adults) certified teacher with over 10 years experience. I have taught international students in Canada at the largest private ESL language school in Toronto. I have taught at conversation schools in Japan and at a Japanese University. Presently, I am teaching man to man lessons to adults and teenagers at a leading high-end conversation school in Japan.
I also have many fitness, and martial arts related certifications. I am a RTY 200 certified Yoga instructor, an IPTFA certified Muay Thai (kickboxing) instructor and personal trainer, and I have a 2nd degree black belt in Kobudo (martial arts) earned in Japan.
My Experience:
I have lived in Japan for almost 10 years in total, and taught students of all levels and ages. I've helped all types of students from High school, to university, to adults and seniors.
My experience in Japan included teaching part time at a Japanese university for 5 years. Teaching at 2 Eikaiwa for a few years, and owning my own English school for 3 years.
I really love Japan and the culture here.
I'd be happy to help you with your English in any way I can.
On the fitness side, I have over 20 years martial arts and training experience, and last year earned my yoga certifcation.
I can speak conversational Japanese, so we should have no problem communicating no matter what your English level.
About me:
In my free time I enjoy martial arts, art, sports, and traveling. I also lived in Hong Kong for 2 years teaching visual arts, and Muay Thai.
I can help you with all skills and areas of English including conversation, grammar, technical language questions and problems. I can prepare you for travel, business English, conversation skills, examinations, and everything else related to learning English.
My Lessons:
My lessons are casual and relaxed, but with a purpose aimed at making you better. I want you to finish our lessons knowing something more than when you started.
I like to use a student centered method to give you as much speaking time as possible. I can cater lessons to your specific requests, or provide practice in any language skills area.
And of course, we'll enjoy and have fun in our lessons together!
