I'm from Osaka and I graduated from a fashion design school. → I moved to Okayama and before I turned 30, I was determined that I want to work in Paris so I applied for the working holiday visa and moved to Paris. I was working at a clothing manufacturer while studying French. Before I realized, it's going to be my 10th year living in France and now I'm a mother to a child.
I started learning French with Alliance Française in high school. I also learned French with NNK, radios, and private lessons. In France, I studied at Paris Catholic Institute for three years.
Even though I studied some French before, when I first got to Paris I had a tough time as I wasn't used to the native speed and I didn't have much vocabulary that I could use for daily life. I started buying textbooks and workbooks and it became my hobby. I thought to myself that I won't be able to live in France if I cannot speak the language. I made up my mind that I'd stop worrying about being shy and I put all my effort into learning.
Now, I'm enjoying my life every day.
French is difficult but it's fun!
I wanted to improve because I wanted to talk to French people! I wanted to understand them!
I did it! Yes! Fantastic!
This is how I started learning French and even now, this motivation hasn't changed.
