Hello, and thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Connie Scuderi.   I have been a certified (TEFL) English Language teacher for more than 15 years and can honestly say that I absolutely love teaching and learning from my students. I am from Philadelphia, PA.  but have visited and lived in many other countries.   I have visited your beautiful country of Japan several times, and have the fondest memories of the sheer beauty of the country and people.     I am anxious to return and explore some more.


In my professional life, I have been a lawyer and business & financial consultant.  I have also taught at the university level and was Director of Academics and Curriculum at two different American Universities.  In 2008, I moved to So Korea and taught English there for four years.  I then lived in Ecuador where I also taught English.  


I have worked with many students from many countries.  My range of professional experience has been particularly useful in working with students who are attorneys, doctors, businesspeople, whether starting a career or advancing in their professional life,  as well as people who want to use their English skills in more casual conversation classes. Once we get to know one another, our lessons are custom tailored to your needs, wants, level and goals for the lessons.  


My range of professional experiences has been particularly useful in working with my students who are attorneys, doctors, medical and legal assistants as well as business people, whether starting their career or advancing in their professional life.  


My teaching style is very student focused and creates a dynamic interactive learning experience.  My rule of thumb is that the more you speak, the more quickly and confidently you will learn and get comfortable with speaking English.    I support my students in confidence building which is every bit as important as vocabulary and grammar. 


You tell me your ideas, and we can have discussions, practice presentations, prepare for interviews, develop professional & social language, review professional publications and writing or have more casual chats about topics of your choice.  As we plan your sessions, we will integrate a range of resources to help develop your skills in all aspects of the language.  


When I am not teaching, I love travel, reading, music, photography and cycling or walking.  My travel has given me hands on experience in many cities and countries where my students live. It is always fun for both of us to talk about their city and discuss specific places there that we both know.
