Teaching in Japan, and Vietnam

The first year I ever taught English abroad was in Japan. I taught 30-35 classes to children of 2-12 years old each week for a private English school. I also taught adults and business classes on site at many major Japanese companies.
I was so nervous in those first lessons!!

After two years, I traveled to Vietnam to obtain my CELTA TEFL certificate in Hanoi and then teach for a few months in Ho Chi Minh City- what an amazing place!

Teaching in Universities

More recently I have been teaching at Universities here in Central Japan. It's such a great experience instructing young adults of all abilities and personalities. I also get to teach other subjects like culture and history.

My Teaching Philosphy 

Quite simply, learning a language is a marathon not sprint. Students who stick at it have the greatest chance of making progress in communication skills. So my teaching is designed to keep my learners motivated, interested and enjoying English.

More About Me

My life centers around my family and ....... running! 

I love spending time with my son and wife, traveling, discovering new stuff and generally enjoying life. I also love the challenge of half marathons, marathons and trail running. It's my therapy!!!
