Hello, my name is Hannah. I'm British and I live in Northampton in the UK.

I lived in Japan, in Mie Prefecture, for seven and a half years. If you have any questions that you find difficult to ask in English, please don't hesitate to ask me in Japanese. My Japanese is not perfect, but I will do my best to help. However, I do ask that you use English as much as possible. When learning a language it is important to use every opportunity to practice using it.

The most important thing to remember is rule number 1, "Don't panic!" It really doesn't matter if you make mistakes, in fact, making mistakes is often the best way to learn. I often make a lot of mistakes in Japanese. For example, I once told my neighbours that I really like to eat people with hummus! I confused the word for carrot with the word for people. My neighbours were very nice about it, we laughed and I haven't made the same mistake again.

I have lots of experience teaching English. In Japan, I spent two years as an ALT, teaching at several high schools, and three years working at a private English school where I taught students of all ages, from 9 months to 87 years old!

After working as an English teacher for 5 years I worked at Shima Kanko Hotel, in Shima, for two years. My main role at the hotel was concierge and front staff, but I also ran classes in "Business English for Hotels", which were attended by the staff of three local hotels.

In 2016, Shima Kanko Hotel hosted the G7 Ise-Shima Summit. I was commended for my work as a liaison assigned to the British delegation by both the British Prime Minister and the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Please take a look at my lessons. I offer a variety of courses that focus on different areas and skills, all of which can be customised to suit you, so please don't hesitate to tell me exactly what you want to study.
I look forward to meeting you soon!

Hannah
