A little bit about me
Guten Tag!
Hi I am Laura and I am a marine biologist from Austria. I know it sounds a bit strange as Austria is landlocked but this is just all what I ever wanted to be. I earned my master degree in Science at the University of Vienna. Currently I am living here in the Philippines, where I am working as a marine consultant and researcher. I am also teaching marine science in public elementary and high schools, as I love sharing my knowledge. As my office is the ocean I love almost every activity you can connect with it, including scuba diving, surfing and swimming.
What will I be teaching?
English: I have experience in teaching English as well, as I was working once as an English Tutor for Korean students for almost a year. I was once a voluntarily English teacher in a provincial school in Lombok, Indonesia. German: I taught German to exchange students from Italy, but I have to admit that I might not be a good German grammar teacher because it is my native language so I just speak it naturally... but hey if you want to practice German conversation, I am the one!
Marine Science: You love the ocean? You want to know more about it? I can tell you a lot about it as it is my major and my favourite place on earth. I am particularily specialised on the deep sea and coral reefs.
What are my lessons like?
Lots of fun, interesting and very enjoyable that time will fly by!
I myself was very passionate and competitive to improve my English skills as much as possible, so during our classes I will be sure to help you improve your language skills as well. Through my work I am getting to know many different nationalities and cultures and communication is key and it just shows how important it is to speak a common known language, like English. So we will have a lot to talk about in either English or German, that’s why you will have a lot of fun during our classes where we will have great conversations to help you in reaching your goals.
The best students and teachers are those who have the most fun.
