Happy Canada Day!

Jul 2, 2018

"No matter where we are, as Canadians, we celebrate Canada and the people who have built the country we love."

A little background:

Canada Day is the national day of Canada.  It celebrates the anniversary of July 1, 1867, coming into force of the Constitution Act, 1867, which united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada.

Canada is home to many immigrants.  My parents and I came here 20 years ago and started a new life.  Life in Hong Kong seems so far away, like a lifetime away.  Over time, memories faded.  We have totally adapted to living in Toronto, and this is our home now.

Toronto is a multicultural city, with lots of immigrants from China, Korea, Middle East and Europe.  That's what I love about this city, there is Little Italy, Korean Town, the new and old China Towns, etc...

Today, there will be fireworks, barbecues, parades, carnivals, picnics and concerts all over Canada.  It will be a festive weekend for us ^_^

Happy Canada Day!
