Do you know your "Irregular Verbs?"

2018年6月15日

Hello Cafetalk Community!
Most everyone knows how to convert a verb from present to past tense. How do you make a verb past tense?
  1. There are five ways to change a verb from present tense to past tense.
  2. Just add –ed.
  3. Double the final consonant and add –ed.
  4. Drop the final e and add –ed.
  5. Change the y to i and add –ed.
  6. Change the spelling
However, just like all the other rules in English grammar, there's always an exception. There are "Irregular Verbs" where the past tense of the verb does not add an -ed, but they are completely different words. Please see the charts above and below to become familiar with the "Irregular Verbs" so you know and understand how to use them.
I hope this helps you speak English more proficiently without a hitch. Please take a look at my profile on Cafetalk if you're interested in an English tutor. I am a friendly, relaxed, and gentle tutor and I would appreciate your consideration. Thank you very much! Have a wonderful day!
Warmest regards,
