Cat Shrine! 猫

Oct 22, 2017

Yesterday we visited the beautiful 'Senganen Garden' in Kagoshima.

It was a beautiful place surrounded by nature and wildlife! There was a 400m high viewing point which we hiked up to and got a brilliant view of the epic Sakurajima volcano once again.

As well as all of the nature and wonderful surroundings, we also came across a very interesting shrine!

As many of you may know, Japan has thousands of shrines, but never before have we come across one which is dedicated to CATS!

By now some of you have noticed that Ashley and I love cats! Finding a shrine dedicated to these awesome felines was a lovely surprise :-)

All in all this was a brilliant day, and despite the weather (rain and clouds!) we still got a great view of Sakurajima, and were able to enjoy the incredible natural surroundings that Japan has to offer.
