Earth Day

Apr 24, 2014

Happy Earth Day to Mother Nature!  April 22 is a day to remember how special nature and our planet are.  We should pick up some trash.  Take a walk in nature.  Look at the flowers and the trees.  But most of all we should think about how we can help the planet.

Probably the greatest environmental crisis of all, Climate Change, has the possiblity of not only destroying the planet, but life for people as we know it.  Food production could drop as drought and floods destroy harvest.  Horrible storms could cause expensive damage to our cities.

It will be sad to live in a world without animals as the rate of extiction is incredible.  But it will be even worse to live in a world full of war because everyone is fighting for dwindling resources.

I have a lesson, social justice, where we can talk about Climate Change and what it means to the world.  Please sign up and lets talk about how to help the world and the planet.

I look forward to talking with you.  Until then, remember what the famous TV naturalist, David Attenborough, had to say: “It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.”
