The most talked about news are the pandemic and the vaccines.

As Covid 19 cases continue to rise at an alarming rate, a declaration of emergency and province wide stay-at-home order are in effect as of April 8. This means that only grocery stores, pharmacies and health care services are open.  Shops that can offer curbside pickup are allowed to be open.  Customers order by phone or online, and when they arrive, they
call the store, and the sales assistant will bring the merchanise outside to the street.

Restaurants are open for take-outs only.  We are allowed to go outside, like taking a walk or taking the kids to the park.

Some students asked me how many times people in Ontario could go grocery shopping a week.  Luckily there is no rule as to how many times we can go.  Most people go once a week.  I go 2-3 times a week.

Vaccines are now available to people over 18 years old if they live in hot spots.  Hot spots mean areas with high infection rates.

People between the ages 18 and 44 have to get the vaccines at certain locations and appointments are not available. Often people have to wait for a few hours.

People 45 and older can make an appointment at certain clinics and community centers.

The Ontario Government announced last Friday that schools would be open no matter what.  Then on Monday, it suddenly announced that schools would be closed as of April 19.  A reopening date has not been determined.  This has caused stress among parents.

I guess I am used to the lockdown, reopening, and lockdown.  In fact, lockdown or not, I work at home and I only go to grocery stores and parks.  It has been my new normal and fortunately, I am adapting to this isolated life pretty well :)
