Candy Chang: Before I Die I Want To...

今週のテーマ: 一番好きなテッドトーク

2020年7月5日

This week's CafeTalk Tutor Columnis about My Favorite TED Talk. I would really like to share mine. The speech is both personal and professional, and it has changed my life. I often think about the meaning of life. And how we should

live our lives. How we live is important but it is also necessary to think about death, too.

Candy Chang's TED talk, Before I Die I Want To..., is a personal story about why she suddenly thought about death and the lesson she learned. Chang is a social worker from New Orleans. In her TED talk, she explains her job and also her hometown. We learn about social work, civic duty, and about American culture.

In her TED talk, Chang also shares a very personal experience she had. It was a very touching story that made me think a lot about the value of life and how we need to live better lives.

I often use this TED talk in my classes because it has a lot of useful words, phrases, idioms, and life lessons. At the end of every lesson, I write on my whiteboard and make my students come up to the board to finish Before I Die I Want To...with their personal goals. If you watch the video on the TED website, you can choose a transcript in your language and even select the script while you watch  https://www.ted.com/talks/candy_chang_before_i_die_i_want_to?utm_campaign=tedspread&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=tedcomshare  Please watch this video and let me know what you think below!
