My name is Veronica and I used to be a primary school teacher in Seattle, Washington. I spent five years working as a teacher and completing my Master's Degree. I then got an opportunity to travel the world for a year.
During my time traveling, I realized that I hadn't been happy. I love teaching. But I wasn't happy with my life. I felt very stuck.
I ended up doing the most risky thing I could imagine: I quit my job and I moved to Ecuador.
I'm writing this post from Quito, Ecuador as I'm starting an entirely new life. I am only staying here for six months and my goals are to develop a new career and build positive new routines to take back to the United States with me.
I started tutoring on Cafetalk. I've started doing virtual assistant work. Basically anything I can to support myself from my computer so I can keep my dream of traveling alive.
While I'm in Ecuador I'm focusing on meditation and reading tarot cards. I'm trying to eat healthier, live healthier, and build new patterns and habits.
Since this week is all about mindset and sticking to new routines, I wanted to share my story with all of you.
Sometimes life is risky or scary or difficult. These next six months are going to be very difficult for me! But I know in my heart that I can make this life work if I put my mind to it and try my best. I'm beginning to schedule blocks of time for the healthy new behaviors I want to master and I'm making sure to stick to my schedule.
When you work for yourself, you have to hold yourself accountable. No one will hold your hand and make sure you're sticking to your routines! You need to find strategies that work for you. So these six months are my practice months. My months where I have goals in front of me and I'm doing my best to achieve them!
If you would like to chat with me about mindset, routines, meditation, tarot, Ecuador, or anything at all; please let me know! I generally work with students that are intermediate or advanced in their English language skills. I offer classes surrounding speaking, listening, and writing in English. I also plan to begin offering tarot readings if anyone is interested in diving into something a little more spiritual.
I love the Cafetalk community and I am happy to be part of this mindset conversation!
