Let me introduce you to my town - Richmond Hill in Toronto.

Weekly Topic: What movie or book influenced you the most in your life?

Nov 23, 2018

I live in the suburbs of Toronto, in the Town of Richmond Hilll. It has a population of 195,020 (2016 consensus).  It is a small area of about 100 square km.

It is not an exciting place, but it is a great place to have a family and live peacefully.  There are lots of recreational places such as swimming pools and ice skating rinks.

My kids go to swimming lessons in a nearby recreation complex, which is less than 10 minutes away.

There is also a wide variety of restaurants in my area- Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Italian and Middle Eastern.  Since there is a huge Asian population here, there is no shortage of authentic Chinese food.

This plaza is less than 10 minutes from my house.

It is next to Walmart, which is a supercenter.  A supercenter is a very large discount department store that sells everything - clothing, electronics, toys, household products and even groceries.

It is very convenient.  However, on the weekend, it is packed with people, so I try to do my grocery shopping during the weekdays.

I have lived in this area for 8 years now, and I probably won't move anywhere.  It is convenient and has all the restaurants and shops that I like.  I guess there is nothing to complain about.
